Alexander Academy Performing Company

Alexander Academy expanded in September 2012 by establishing the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Alexander Academy Performing Company.

The Company's mission is to provide accessible, high-quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to the Maui community. Through the art and discipline of dance, we empower students to embody the aloha spirit, identify their self-respect and compassion, and feel connection. Our values develop socially responsible citizens through connection between mind, body and community.

All students are offered two performance opportunities (Spring and Fall Semesters). While all performances are optional, we encourage performance as an important aspect of dance training. The experience of performing helps build self-esteem and confidence, which can result in better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and strong college and job interview skills.

The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of collaborating as a team to create the best end result.

Auditions are held at the beginning of the Spring and Fall Semesters, providing valuable experience for future endeavors.

In the same spirit as the school, the Performing Company offers scholarships to dancers who are unable to perform due to financial barriers.

Urgent! Donate to our annual fund for costuming for our next production

We need to raise $30,000 by December 31 to secure Jennifer Oberg as our costume designer and partner with the Sewing Hui for our spring production of Alice in Wonderland.

At this time, we do not have the funding for original costume designs or custom fittings, and we have not received any grants to support these costs. Last year, even with support, our production operated at a loss—so increased fundraising and sponsorships are essential.

If 30 people give $1,000 or 60 people give $500, we will reach our goal.
Any amount helps.

Please use the link to our Annual Fund to contribute.
All donations will go directly toward costuming.

Your donation will support The Nutcracker Ballet December 13-14, 2025 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, & our Spring Production of Alice in Wonderland, on June 5-7, 2026 at Seabury Hall.
