Karli Jo List

Karli Jo List was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she participated in figure skating, springboard diving, soccer, track and field, and musical theatre, visual arts, and music. She began dancing at 14, falling in love with Dance’s perfect blend of arts and athletics.

 

In 2020, Karli Jo completed her BFA in Dance with a minor in Anthropology from Chapman University. In college, she performed in works by Julianne O’brien, Jenny Backhaus, Ido Tadmoor, and Dwight Rhoden (set by Desmond Richardson). In 2017, Karli Jo performed in Anthony Thomas’ piece “Alright” for the Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fischer memorial service. In 2019, she performed with the Diavolo Veterans Project in “Ibuki,” architecture by Jacques Heim. After college, she continued assisting and demonstrating for her teacher Sean Greene, former dancer of Bella Lewitzky, Greene technique being her primary modern dance training. She currently dance’s with Adaptations Dance Theater here on Maui.

 

Karli Jo’s love for somatic therapy and experiencing the physical body drive her teaching style. Her goal as a teacher is that students walk out of class having learned something about themselves and their bodies. Karli Jo plans to eventually pursue a master’s degree and teach in higher education.

 

Karli Jo is a multi-faceted artist; she is a musician and songwriter, mixed media artist, and film maker. She also owns and operates Integrate Bodyworks LLC as a massage therapist and reiki practitioner.
